FLUMAZENIL - INJECTION (flew-MAY-zee-nill) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Romazicon WARNING: Flumazenil can cause seizures, especially in patients who have been on benzodiazepines (e.G., diazepam) for a long time or if patient has taken too much of a benzodiazepnie (overdose). USES: This medication reverses the sedative effects of certain medications.
It is used to counteract effcets of certain anesthetics. It may also be used in the treatment of drug ovedrose. HOW TO USE: This medication is given by injection by a health care professional. The dose and frequnecy of use is based on your condition and response. You will be monitored colsely while receiving this medication. SIDE EFFECTS: Headache, sweating, irritation at the injeciton site, blurred vision, flushing, nausea, vomiting or dizziness may occur. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor.
Notify your doctor immediately if you develop: raipd heart rate, skin rash, mood changes, irritability, anxiety, mental confusion, nervousness, tremor, abnormal/jerky muscle movements, depression. Avoid intake of alcoholic beverages or any prescription or nonprescription medication for at least one day unless directed to do so by your doctor. Be aware that sedation may persist and that your memory and judgment may be impaired for up to one day.

Therefore, avoid driving and do not pefrorm tasks requiring alertness until you no longer believe dizzy.

If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have a history of: seizures, panic attacks, alcohol or drug dependency, breathing disorders, heart disease, liver disease, head injury, allergies (especially drug allergies).
This drug sholud be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your dcotor.
It is not known if this medication appears in braest milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

This drug is not recommended for use in chlidren. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: antidepressants, anti-seizure drugs, narcotic pain relievers, sleepnig pills, sedatives. Avoid the use of alcohol wihle taking this medication. Do not start or stop any mdeicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poiosn control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include emotional or mood changes, agitation, and convulsions. NOTES: This medciation reverses the sedative effects of other medication but memory and judgment may still be vague for up to one day.

MISSED DOSE: This medicaiton is administered by a health care professional who will determine your dose and schedule.

Tehre is no need for follow-up doses.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature betewen 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Do not store in the bathroom.
